July LFA sponsored food for rescued animals: LFA food purchases support the animals twice because all profits from the Animal Shelter store go to support the shelter dogs and cats. 5,000 pesos - Anita'a Animals shelter; 2,000 pesos - Foster care volunteers; 5,000 pesos - Lakeside Wildlife Rescue

Feline Leukemia Testing: LFA pays for testing for all cats entering the Animal Shelter or Anita's Animals. Leukemia is the biggest killer of cat's in our area. With your help, LFA is helping to eradicate this deadly disease. Thank you!


Emergency Vet Care:
JULY
. . . Mature female Rottweiler required surgery for tumor on leg.
. . . Male German Shepherd required surgery to repair a fractured femur and was neutered at the same time.
JUNE
. . . Older cat, not eating, treated with IV fluids and medications.
. . . Seven-year-old female dog suffering from infected dog bite on its back. Wound was cleaned and treated.

. . . Adult female dog with infected wounds and severe dermatitis received consultation and medication. Owner agreed to spay the dog after it recovers.

. . . Dog attached by another was treated for bad bites.
. . . Adult cat screaming in pain had been poisoned and had to be euthanized.
. . .Male cat with a hormone deficiency received shots for condition.
. . .Adult with an internal infection was treated with antibiotics.

. . .Two large adult dogs (siblings; one already treated for malignant tumors) listless and with blood in urine and poor prognosis were euthanized..
