Know when a pet needs a vet ASAP
 
 
Some symptoms that veterinarians say demand immediate intervention:
  • Bleeding that won't stop.
  • Hyperthermia (overheating)
  • Extreme abdominal distress (panting, can't lie down, distended belly)
  • Any evidence the animal may have ingested something toxic, such as human meds, rodent poison, raisins, grapes, xylitol, antifreeze and (for cats) lilies.
  • Loss of consciousness or seizures.
  • Persistent (6 or 8 times) vomiting or diarrhea.
  • A cat that yowls when trying to urinate (which could be a urinary tract infection of life-threatening blockage.
